Sportsman's Dinner - Ian T Botham

We were indeed lucky to acquire the services of Ian, who limits his personal appearances to a small number each year, and there had been a buzz around the club since it was confirmed that he would be able to appear.

Every cricket player's dream is to meet Ian Botham, and many of our players achieved that dream on Friday 6th August 1999, when Leigh Cricket Club held its annual dinner at Lowton Civic Hall.

Rob Clews and Steve Bailey had put in a tremendous effort to ensure that the night was a success, and their work was greatly appreciated by the cricket committee and the many guests who attended the evening.
